Eklund Retention Pond

White Lake Excavating designed and constructed a retention pond to relieve a commercial development of an overwhelming amount of water run-off.

The main features of this project included:

  • Cut and fill approximately of 18,000 cubic yards of clay
  • Removal of approximately 5,000 cubic yards of sand
  • 300' of 30" corrugated plastic pipe and 1 concrete bulk head

WLE contracted with Dimensions Engineering to draw plans and get finale design approval from The Muskegon County Drain Commission. White Lake Excavating was able to utilize an unbuildable portion of the property under hi-tension power lines to construct the retention pond. White Lake Excavating conquered the complex challenge of utilizing a very limited work space and creating steep side-slopes.
